We are looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team in Nottingham for the Facilities Management department at Albumedix, now a part of Sartorius. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance of facilities performing hands-on maintenance tasks, routine inspections, liaising with contractors and third parties whilst ensuring safety and regulatory standards are met.
The team consists of 4 professionals, and we are looking forward to shaping the future with you. You will be working Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm. This position is available full-time on a permanent basis and you will be working on site in Central Nottingham, which is easy to get to, being only a short walk from the train station and tram stop.
Your Responsibilities
- Perform basic maintenance and repairs across production, laboratory, office areas as well as landscaping.
- Carry out regular compliance checks on legionella water flushing and associated documentation (L8 compliance), weekly and monthly inspections (e.g., fire extinguishers, meter readings, pre-audit walkarounds, emergency exits), inspections related to LOLER and pressure systems regulations.
- Manage contractor activities such as contractor inductions and routine safety audits, review contractor RAMS (risk assessments and method statements) to ensure safe systems of work are in place before activities commence.
- Liaise with service providers for maintenance and facility support (CCTV, fire and security systems, pest control, access control etc.).
- Maintain housekeeping standards across the facility, including routine checks of common areas and external grounds.
- Assist with health, safety and environmental compliance.
- Manage site waste process, including metal and electrical waste coordination.
- Support the ordering and fitting of equipment labels, tags and other facility signage.
- Ensure all activities are documented accurately to support regulatory, insurance and audit compliance.
- Take part in internal facility management improvement projects.
- Work cross-functionally with various departments and build strong relationships with team members.
