We are recruiting for an Environmental Waste Services Manager on an initial 3 month contract based in Northamptonshire. Your main role will be to manage and oversee the delivery of waste collection, street cleansing, grounds maintenance, and related services in the local area. The role ensures services meet contractual standards, are efficiently delivered, and aligned with statutory responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage the performance.
  • Conduct data analysis, site inspections, and budget oversight to ensure service compliance.
  • Address and manage service risks, including health & safety and statutory compliance.
  • Prepare and deliver reports and presentations; participate in internal and partner meetings.
  • Respond to public and council enquiries, service requests, and complaints.
  • Provide professional advice on service delivery and strategic reviews of environmental services.
  • Support waste services transformation projects with data, insight, and operational management.
  • Supervise the Environmental Services Officer.

Candidates will have the following skills and experience:

  • Proven experience as a Contract Manager.
  • Substantial experience in waste management, specifically delivering waste collection services.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in waste management, environmental studies, civil engineering, or a related field.
  • Possession of a specific Health & Safety qualification such as IOSH and / or NEBOSH.

This role will be a mixture of remote, office and site based working.

Day Rate: £450 per day via umbrella company.
