Chesterfield, Derbyshire – remote working available however must live within 45 minutes of S45. £29,000 plus £5,000 Bonus.

We are currently supporting an independently owned company with the recruitment of an Internal Sales person. Your primary role is to generate and convert new business opportunities through structured cold calling, targeted market segmentation, and lead qualification. You will play a critical part in identifying potential clients, nurturing leads, and supporting the wider sales function in driving customer acquisition. Working from the office or remotely, your focus will be on proactive engagement, clear communication, and efficient follow-up to convert prospects into long-term clients.

Key Tasks for Internal Sales role:

  • Lead Generation & Cold Calling: Conduct structured cold calling campaigns to engage educational institutions, introduce the company and articulate the value of our products and services, build interest, qualify prospects, and schedule meetings or follow-up actions for conversion.
  • Market Segmentation: Segment target markets based on location, organisational size, demographics, and needs, create targeted outreach lists using CRM tools, databases, and market insights, prioritise prospects based on opportunity size and strategic alignment.
  • Lead Nurturing & Conversion: Maintain consistent follow-up with prospects to build rapport and guide them through the sales funnel, tailor communication to address each prospect’s specific needs and concerns, work closely with the Business Development Manager to convert qualified leads into customers.
  • CRM Management & Reporting: Log all call activity, lead details, and communications in the CRM system, track and report on performance metrics such as number of calls, leads generated, and conversions achieved, provide insights on lead quality, objections, and recurring themes to support strategy refinement.
  • Sales Collaboration: Support the Business Development Manager with market intelligence and lead insights, liaise with the Marketing Team on campaign effectiveness and lead quality, collaborate with Customer Service and Operations teams to ensure a smooth handover of new accounts.

Competencies for Internal Sales role:

  • Experience in telesales, inside sales, or business development, ideally in education, retail, or B2B sectors.
  • Strong verbal communication, listening, and persuasive skills.
  • Confidence and resilience in cold calling and handling objections.
  • Ability to research, segment, and prioritise potential leads.
  • Organised, target-driven, and proficient in using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
