Yard Team Leader

Location: Ipswich / Suffolk
Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 days a week
Reports To: Office & Warehouse Manager

About the Company
Our client is a leading provider in the telecoms infrastructure space, known for delivering reliable and scalable solutions across the UK. With growing operations, we are now seeking a proactive and hands-on Yard Team Leader to support the efficient running of their yard operations across three sites in Suffolk.

Role Overview
This role will act as a key support between the Manager and the Yard Operative across three yards. The Yard Team Leader will ensure smooth coordination of stock, fleet, and site logistics while remaining actively hands-on in the day-to-day running of the yards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist and support the intake and organisation of stock across all three yards
• Assist in receiving, checking, and documenting deliveries
• Support the coordination of the company s fleet, including organising repairs and maintenance
• Build and maintain temporary SLG (Streetworks Lighting & Guarding) setups when required
• Ensure the yards are kept tidy, organised, and compliant with H&S procedures
• Act as a point of contact between yard staff and the Operations Manager
• Occasionally travel between yard sites to ensure consistency and operational flow
• Report any stock discrepancies or issues to management in a timely manner

Experience & Requirements

• Previous experience working in a yard, depot, or warehouse environment (telecoms/utilities desirable)
• Valid UK Driving Licence
• Forklift experience
• Good organisational and communication skills
• Proactive and hands-on approach
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks across multiple sites
• Knowledge of stock handling and logistics processes
