The Role
We are seeking an experienced Stock Condition Surveyor to support a large housing portfolio, focused on the strategic asset management of over 11,000 social housing properties. This role plays a vital part in capturing accurate condition data and supporting long-term investment planning through a significant capital and revenue programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct stock condition surveys on residential properties and related assets
- Assess property condition, life expectancy of key building elements, and identify necessary works
- Carry out health and safety inspections in line with the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS), ensuring any Category 1 hazards are identified and addressed
- Evaluate energy efficiency ratings using RdSAP and input data for energy assessments
- Prepare concise, detailed survey reports to inform future investment decisions
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, external contractors, and partner organisations
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures and equality frameworks
Requirements
- Proven experience in building surveying or architectural practice, including condition surveys, HHSRS, and RdSAP data collection
- Strong report writing and records management skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and handheld surveying software
- Educated to ONC level or equivalent in a relevant field
- Training or awareness of Health & Safety legislation, CDM Regulations, and domestic energy assessment
- Excellent communication, literacy, and numeracy skills
