Rate: £18.02 per hour PAYE / £23.11 per hour Umbrella

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Stock Condition Surveyor to support a large housing portfolio, focused on the strategic asset management of over 11,000 social housing properties. This role plays a vital part in capturing accurate condition data and supporting long-term investment planning through a significant capital and revenue programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct stock condition surveys on residential properties and related assets
  • Assess property condition, life expectancy of key building elements, and identify necessary works
  • Carry out health and safety inspections in line with the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS), ensuring any Category 1 hazards are identified and addressed
  • Evaluate energy efficiency ratings using RdSAP and input data for energy assessments
  • Prepare concise, detailed survey reports to inform future investment decisions
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, external contractors, and partner organisations
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures and equality frameworks

Requirements

  • Proven experience in building surveying or architectural practice, including condition surveys, HHSRS, and RdSAP data collection
  • Strong report writing and records management skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and handheld surveying software
  • Educated to ONC level or equivalent in a relevant field
  • Training or awareness of Health & Safety legislation, CDM Regulations, and domestic energy assessment
  • Excellent communication, literacy, and numeracy skills
