Operating at the leading edge of consulting, our multi-disciplinary teams combine deep economics expertise, industry knowledge, and a structured decision-making approach to help clients understand the potential impacts, benefits, and return on investment of strategic decisions. Our capabilities include:
- Strategy: We specialise in securing investments in public and private sector infrastructure and technology, from developing high-level strategies through to authoring business cases.
- Economics: We apply economic principles and analysis to support policy development, economic regulation, and benefits appraisal, helping clients to understand long-term impacts on various markets.
- Modelling: We develop operational, economic, and financial models to help understand the impact of various options/scenarios and guide strategic decision-making.
Hybrid working - our approach is to be in the office or on client site a minimum of 2 days per week. However, the actual time you spend and where you spend it will vary by role or assignment, including up to 5 days per week on a client site.
We are hiring consultants with relevant professional experience in either a consulting role or in the energy industry who are natural problem-solvers and constantly curious. Attributes that we are looking for include:
- Capability-specific skills: Demonstrable experience in at least one of the following capabilities:
- Business strategies for regulated utilities, especially electricity networks and water companies.
- Offshore wind auction bidding strategies (e.g. for AR7).
- Strategies for hydrogen markets, including use cases and commercial models.
- Economic regulation of utilities, including outputs & incentives, cost benchmarking, and cost of capital.
- Power market design, including wholesale energy markets, capacity markets, and ancillary service markets.
- Revenue support mechanisms for energy infrastructure such as CfDs, RAB models, and cap & floor arrangements.
- Financial modelling for the energy and utilities sector, particularly for investment valuation and price control financial modelling.
- Strong technical skills in the development and application of power market forecasting models (specifically in PLEXOS software).
- Strong technical skills and proficiency in offshore wind auction modelling.
