Tripod is seeking an experienced Environmental Services Manager to join the Council on an interim basis. This role focuses on managing the Joint Venture (JV) with Norse for delivery of environmental services including waste collection, street cleansing, grounds maintenance and waste transfer operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the performance and compliance of environmental services provided by the JV.
- Manage associated risks across statutory, financial, and health & safety areas.
- Investigate and resolve resident and member enquiries and complaints.
- Provide reports and data for performance tracking and service improvement.
- Line manage a Waste Services Officer.
- Contribute to strategic reviews of waste and cleansing services in the region.
Requirements:
- Strong experience in contract management, ideally within a local authority setting.
- Background in waste services and environmental operations.
- Knowledge of statutory waste duties and waste management practices.
- Ability to manage budgets, analyse service data, and prepare reports.
- Experience managing staff and working collaboratively with contractors.
- Driving licence and ability to travel locally.
