Legal Support

  • Assist in managing and reviewing contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Provide advice on charity law and company regulations, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Support the legal team with charity registration, reporting, and governance matters.
  • Assist in handling any legal disputes or claims, liaising with external legal advisors as required.
  • Maintain and update legal documentation and files.

Financial Support

  • Assist in basic bookkeeping tasks, including invoice processing and expense tracking.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports and statements.
  • Help monitor the budget and ensure that financial records are kept up to date and compliant with relevant accounting standards.
  • Assist with payroll administration and employee expenses.
  • Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and financial advisors as necessary.

Skills And Experience

  • Previous experience in a legal or finance assistant role, ideally within a charity or non-profit organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of charity law, company regulations, and financial reporting.
  • Good understanding of financial administration, including bookkeeping and basic accounting.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with accounting software is a plus.

Desirable Attributes

  • A law degree, paralegal qualification, or equivalent experience in charity law or corporate law.
  • Previous experience with fundraising or grant management is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of GDPR and other relevant regulations.
