Legal Support
- Assist in managing and reviewing contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Provide advice on charity law and company regulations, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Support the legal team with charity registration, reporting, and governance matters.
- Assist in handling any legal disputes or claims, liaising with external legal advisors as required.
- Maintain and update legal documentation and files.
Financial Support
- Assist in basic bookkeeping tasks, including invoice processing and expense tracking.
- Support the preparation of financial reports and statements.
- Help monitor the budget and ensure that financial records are kept up to date and compliant with relevant accounting standards.
- Assist with payroll administration and employee expenses.
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and financial advisors as necessary.
Skills And Experience
- Previous experience in a legal or finance assistant role, ideally within a charity or non-profit organisation.
- Strong knowledge of charity law, company regulations, and financial reporting.
- Good understanding of financial administration, including bookkeeping and basic accounting.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with accounting software is a plus.
Desirable Attributes
- A law degree, paralegal qualification, or equivalent experience in charity law or corporate law.
- Previous experience with fundraising or grant management is an advantage.
