Role Summary
To support Teesside Hospice's fundraising team by researching potential trust and grant funding opportunities, working alongside senior members of the fundraising team assisting with the development of compelling funding proposals, and helping to submit applications that contribute to the Hospice's income generation goals. Your contribution will directly support the delivery of vital palliative care services for people and families across Teesside.
Key Responsibilities
- Research & Prospecting: Identify and research potential trust and grant funding opportunities using online databases, directories, and other resources. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of potential funders, deadlines, and eligibility criteria.
- Application Support: Assist in drafting or take the lead on writing tailored funding applications and proposals, ensuring alignment with funder priorities and Teesside Hospice's mission and services. Help compile relevant supporting documents such as budgets, case studies, reports, and impact data.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Support the tracking of submitted applications and their outcomes. Assist in preparing progress reports and thank-you communications to funders as needed.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the departments across Teesside Hospice to understand funding needs and key messaging.
Personal Qualities
- Strong written communication skills with attention to detail
- Good research and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Passionate about the work of Teesside Hospice and making a meaningful impact
- IT literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and internet research
- Experience in fundraising, writing, or research (desirable but not essential)
Training Requirements
As a Trusts and Grants Volunteer you will complete the following training:
- Teesside Hospice mandatory training
- Volunteer induction training
- Any other training identified as appropriate to the role
Support And Supervision
Your first line of support and for any enquiries will be Trusts and Grants Manager and/or the Director of Income Generation to support you in your role. You will be provided with a Teesside Hospice volunteer badge.
