We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced IT Project Manager for our clients who are an IT Managed service provider. This role is remote with some travel to the office approx 2 days per month.
The IT Project Manager should have significant demonstrable experience shaping and delivering several IT projects within a multi-divisional business. Have suitable practical experience of project managing technical and functional change at workstream level from inception to implementation on complex projects (around 5-8 years ideally). They will develop and nurture relationships with business counterparts to help them accurately understand business requirements, ways of working and desired outcomes.
Key responsibilities:
- Within small to medium scale projects, co-ordinates the projects’ workstreams, on a day-to-day basis, to ensure maximum efficiency in the allocation of common resources and skills.
- Ability to engage and influence peers in I.T. and Business.
- Manages 3rd party Supplier resources and engagements on the Project.
- Ensures that the appropriate environment is developed to support project managers, including the processes and practices for managing projects utilising best practice.
- Implements systems, processes, and measures to ensure that exceptions, slippage and issues of priority are effectively managed, and that extra activities are initiated wherever gaps in the programme are identified.
- An understanding of assigned business functional domain including business operating model, activities, data, process, and information requirements.
- Monitors overall progress and initiates corrective action, as appropriate, to ensure that deliverable is produced on time, within budget and to acceptable quality.
- Manages both the dependencies and the interfaces between projects and other deliveries.
- Manages the communications with all stakeholders, reporting progress of the project at regular intervals to the Sponsor, steering group or senior management.
- Manages project budget, costs and accruals process using assigned tools and processes.
Skills, experience & minimum qualifications required:
- Experience of databases, applications, infrastructure, Cloud, Azure, M365, development.
- Practical usage of AzureDevOps, JIRA or similar supporting agile ceremonies for planning, collaboration and delivery of work activities.
- Ability to analyse information and make sound decisions on the findings.
- Commercial awareness.
- Able to influence and negotiate.
- Ability to present reports and information in a variety of ways.
- Customer and delivery focused, meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
- Ability to work with a range of stakeholders both internally and externally.
- Proactively builds knowledge through sharing knowledge, ideas and expertise with others.
- Degree in relevant discipline (or equivalent).
- Relevant professional Accreditation e.g. Prince 2 Practitioner APMP, Scrum Master etc.
- Can achieve security clearance (BPSS or higher).
