Are you an experienced scientist with expertise in bioanalytical methods? Would you like to work within the Research and Development (R&D) team of a reputable scientific organisation, making a direct difference to patients’ lives across the globe?
My client, a leader in delivering high quality, biological pharmaceutical products is seeking a Senior Scientist – Bioanalysis to join their successful R&D team in London. In this role you will lead R&D projects focused on advancing biological therapies, whilst also providing technical expertise and managing a small team of scientists. This is an exciting opportunity to join a knowledgeable team of scientists striving to make a positive and long lasting impact on patients’ lives across the globe.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Scientist – Bioanalysis include:
- Lead Research and Development projects through acting as the project lead and point of contact.
- Deliver R&D projects in line with agreed timelines, updating internal and external stakeholders on study progress.
- Develop and optimise Bioanalytical methods.
- Design, execute and analyse experiments in line with R&D deliverables.
- Act as a technical expert within Bioanalysis, providing guidance and advice to colleagues as needed.
- Manage a small team of scientists, identifying development opportunities and driving career progression.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety guidelines, SOP’s and regulatory requirements e.g. GLP and GMP.
- Accurately record and present scientific results through the completion of laboratory records, written reports and presentations.
To be considered for the Senior Scientist – Bioanalysis, you will need the following skills and experience:
- PhD, MSc or BSc in a relevant life science discipline e.g. Biochemistry, Biological Science, Molecular Biology etc., or equivalent working experience.
- Significant experience with bioanalytical methods e.g. chromatography (HPLC / GC), gel electrophoresis, SDS-Page, ELISA, protein analysers etc. including method optimisation and development.
- Strong foundation of scientific knowledge across protein purification and characterisation / analysis methods.
- Prior experience in managing and/or leading a team, including supporting personal development.
- Prior experience delivering R&D projects within an industry (pharma / biopharma) environment would be highly advantageous.
- An agile mind-set, happy working within a fast-moving R&D environment with evolving priorities.
- The ability to deliver to deadlines and take a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Excellent communication skills, a collaborative approach and a personable nature to support relationship building within the broader team and key stakeholders.
