This is a permanent opportunity based in Peterborough, with hybrid working options available. The Role
As Environment & Sustainability Advisor, you’ll support major infrastructure projects within a well-established alliance. Reporting to the SHEA Manager, you’ll provide specialist environmental advice, ensure compliance with legislation, and champion sustainable practices across design and delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical environmental support and review project documentation
- Promote and implement sustainable construction practices
- Engage with regulators and external stakeholders on environmental matters
- Contribute to pre-construction planning and risk assessments
- Monitor changes in environmental legislation and support compliance across teams
- Manage environmental non-conformances and support internal reviews
- Represent the organisation in environmental working groups and forums
- Support alignment with the Alliance Management System (AMS)
About You
- Degree in an environmental or related discipline
- Proven experience in environmental management within construction or infrastructure
- Broad understanding of environmental areas, such as:
- Contaminated land
- Waste management
- Ecology and archaeology
- Soil testing
- Carbon and sustainability
- Social value and statutory nuisance
- Incident investigation
