Our friendly team in Chorley has an exciting opportunity for a Shift Supervisor to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. As a Shift Supervisor, you will support the Shift Managers in the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring that all service and cost targets are met or exceeded, that all Health & Safety requirements are met, and that the highest standards of housekeeping are maintained.

Salary: £30,231 per annum.

Working hours: Monday-Friday, 6am-2pm/2pm-10pm rotating with flexibility to cover weekends when required.

Key Duties of a Shift Supervisor:

  • Assist the Shift Manager in coordinating issues within the warehouse.
  • Schedule and supervise the activities of warehouse staff.
  • Ensure proper and timely completion of all warehouse activities.
  • Communicate plans with Operations Controllers to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain records of team performance and advise the Shift Manager of potential disruptions.
  • Organize training and development for warehouse staff, including on-the-job coaching, and evaluate training effectiveness.
  • Provide regular feedback on team and individual performance, including behavioral issues and areas for development.
  • Manage levels of planned and unplanned absence, ensuring coverage and managing unacceptable levels.
  • Participate as an active member of the management team, offering suggestions for improving efficiency, customer focus, and teamwork.

Qualifications:

  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of on-site systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Leadership skills to delegate, supervise, and motivate staff.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills with suppliers and customers.
  • Knowledge of SAP, PKMS, Road Runner is a plus but not essential.
