In this role you will be responsible for setting & operating a fleet of mixed milling machines, primarily milling centres and routers with Fanuc/Haas controls. Daily activities will consist of setting machines and proving out first offs to ensure parts produced are compliant to customer specifications and held to high quality standards.
Responsibilities of a CNC Machinist:
- Set and operate Haas/Fanuc-controlled CNC milling machines
- Be able to read and work from Technical Drawings
- Ability to load and edit NC programmes on the machines control
- Prepare and load materials and components
- Work to specific tolerances ensuring these are accurate for each operation
- Inspect and measure finished components, recording results using in-process inspection sheets
- Fulfil daily responsibilities using our ERP system (IFS)
- Reporting any issues to their Supervisor/Manager
- Take a proactive approach to managing their own and others' Health & Safety
- Be flexible in their duties/responsibilities and perform other duties which reasonably correspond to the general character of their job
- Adhere to all Company's policies
The successful CNC Machinist will possess the following:
- Experience producing precision milled components from a variety of materials, mainly composite, aluminium & plastics
- Experience operating machinery
- Ability to complete ongoing quality documentation, maintaining communication with supervisors and quality operatives
- Understanding use of M and G codes
- Understand basic measurement principles
- Understanding of basic quality & process principles
