MLC Partners are working with an NHS organisation who are seeking to recruit an Interim People Systems Lead to support critical work across their HR systems portfolio. This is a key role, ideal for someone with strong experience in workforce systems (particularly ESR), looking to deliver high-impact change over a 3–6 month period.

You will lead the management and optimisation of core people systems, support ongoing strategic development, and ensure data flows, governance and process improvements are embedded across the Trust’s HR operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the operation, enhancement and user engagement of the ESR and People Hub systems.
  • Act as the main liaison between departments on system functionality, integrations, and data quality.
  • Manage inbound and outbound data flows, ensuring system integrity and consistency across platforms.
  • Lead process improvement work across the employee lifecycle (Joiners, Movers, Leavers).
  • Support the ongoing development of a People Systems Strategy and associated architecture.
About You
  • Significant experience managing ESR or comparable HRIS in a healthcare or public sector setting.
  • Proven ability to lead system improvements, integrations, and data governance initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills across corporate and operational departments.
  • Track record of leading or contributing to digital or workforce transformation projects.
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage a team, and deliver outcomes at pace.
