Our public sector client is looking for a Lead Oracle DBA to join them to take responsibility for the management and support of the Database environments within the organisation. This includes being responsible for the conception, planning, setup, and technical hands-on support of all Databases.
As the Lead Oracle DBA you must be proficient across a number of different Database platforms, specifically Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server, and you must have experience in managing both on-premise and cloud-based database platforms.
Skills and Experience- Extensive experience in Oracle 19 database technologies in a 3rd line support and technical design capacity, including Dataguard, RMAN and OEM Grid to manage and optimise the database estate.
- Experience with Oracle in a Windows environment.
- Expertise with analysing Oracle database platforms to identify performance or reliability improvements or to debug complex operational incidents.
- Broad knowledge of the whole market within Database Technologies with in-depth knowledge of leading quadrant.
- Expert working knowledge of the design and administration of Oracle database administration and Oracle Enterprise Manager or MS SQL Server.
- Good experience of Cloud Technologies (Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS) focused on design, configuration, deployment and operation of Database platforms.
- Solid experience of designing and implementing appropriate, efficient and effective database solutions.
- Broad knowledge of IT Security best practice, with particular emphasis on the MOD standards and accreditation process.
- Expertise in industry and professional standards, including best practice programming methods and standards.
- Excellent experience of providing quality/technical assurance within complex projects.
- Excellent understanding of the principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management of the testing process and the execution of tests throughout the lifecycle of development projects, for example: standards for testing, planning & estimating, configuration management, incident management, test efficiency and effectiveness measurement.
