The predicted salary is between 43200 - 72000 £ per year.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience working specifically with PowerOn Control and/or PowerOn Advantage platforms. Proven experience integrating with the database(s) and knowledge about how the information is structured within it (in case it needs to be transformed before storing it). Knowledge of electric distribution systems (MV/LV) is desirable. Experience in integrating Power-On with other IT and OT systems, particularly with Historian Systems. Experience with telecontrol communication protocols (IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, IEC 101/104, ICCP). Proficiency in SQL and/or Python for data manipulation and customization within PowerOn. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to support control room operations in real time. Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with engineering, operations, and IT teams.
The PowerOn Specialist will be responsible for configuring, supporting, and maintaining the connection methods with the PowerON Advantage system with the objective of extracting data from digital and analogue variables, and events, with the required periodicity, in order to be stored in a cloud database (Timescale or similar).
Summary:
- Hands-on Expertise: At least 3 years of experience with GE PowerOn Control or Advantage, configuring and supporting real-time control room systems.
- Data Integration: Ability to extract and transform data from PowerOn (digital/analog variables, events) and push it to a cloud database like TimescaleDB.
- System Knowledge: Familiarity with electric distribution systems (MV/LV) and integration with OT systems like Historian.
- Protocols & Scripting: Proficient in telecontrol protocols (e.g., DNP3, IEC 104) and scripting using SQL/Python for customizations.
- Example: For instance, real-time fault data from PowerOn is pulled via IEC 104, processed in Python, and stored in TimescaleDB for outage analytics and visualization in the cloud.
