My Client is looking to add to their growing team in Birmingham by hiring two new Customs Clerks— One with Road Import / Export experience and the other with Ocean Import / Export both SENIORS. If you have experience in Road Import / Export, handling customs entries for cargo moving by road, or you specialize in Ocean Import / Export managing customs documentation for sea freight, we want to hear from you! Both roles are part of our dynamic customs team, where you’ll ensure smooth clearance of consignments, collaborate with customers and suppliers, and stay compliant with international customs regulations.
Key Responsibilities for Both Roles:
- Preparing customs entries for Road & Ocean Imports & Exports, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Processing key documents such as COO, EUR1 on ICERT.
- Screening client documentation like commercial invoices and packing lists.
- Processing refunds with HMRC and coordinating transport operations.
- Ensuring efficient and cost-effective imports while maintaining compliance.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience in customs, with expertise in Road & Ocean imports.
- Strong understanding of customs legislation and a sound knowledge of trade tariffs.
- Experience with CDS, Descartes, and Destin8/CNS/Cargo wise is preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- A proactive, motivated, and positive attitude.
