We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Investment Operations Executive to join a prestigious family office based in London. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing the operational aspects of a diversified global investment portfolio. This includes investment accounting, performance reporting, portfolio monitoring, cash flow management, trading and settlements, and valuations. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the investment team and contribute to the efficient management and governance of a sophisticated multi-asset class portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage investment accounting activities across public and private market investments, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Prepare regular performance reports and analytics for the investment portfolio, including attribution analysis and benchmarking against relevant indices.
- Monitor portfolio exposures, performance, and risk metrics, providing insights and alerts on deviations from investment guidelines or targets.
- Manage portfolio cash flow planning, including forecasting capital calls, distributions, and liquidity requirements across asset classes.
- Coordinate trade execution and settlement processes across equities, fixed income, FX, and alternative investments, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Oversee periodic valuation processes for private market investments and liaise with external valuation agents and auditors as required.
- Maintain and improve operational workflows, controls, and governance frameworks to ensure robust investment operations.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams and external service providers, including custodians, administrators, auditors, and investment managers.
- Support the CIO and investment team with ad-hoc projects, operational due diligence, and process enhancements.
Key Requirements:
- 7–10 years of relevant experience in investment operations, portfolio administration, or investment accounting, ideally within a family office, institutional investor, or asset management environment.
- Strong knowledge of investment accounting principles across public and private markets.
- Familiarity with performance measurement methodologies, including time-weighted and money-weighted returns, and performance attribution analysis.
- Experience with cash flow management and forecasting in complex investment portfolios.
- Solid understanding of trading and settlement processes across multiple asset classes and global markets.
- Experience in managing valuations of illiquid investments and liaising with third-party valuation agents.
- High level of proficiency with investment reporting systems, portfolio management tools, and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise reporting for senior stakeholders.
