We are looking for a Technical Copy Editor to support the Learn content team. You will work on enterprise product content. Work will be 10 – 20 hours a week (variable). Shifts are 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM (UK time). Flexibility is key!
Editorial:
- Copy edit and proofread content topics.
- Correct for grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Edit for adherence to the Writing Style Guide and the Cloud Style Guide.
- Ensure that text elements are formatted correctly. Most content will be scrubbed in Markdown format.
- Ensure that documentation complies with legal standards, such as use of fictitious names, product names, and trademarking.
- Ensure that abbreviations and acronyms are spelled out on first mention, if appropriate, as per style guides.
- Ensure that content meets minimum publishing criteria.
Required qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience editing software product documentation or other public-facing content.
- Outstanding editing skills, including excellent knowledge of grammar, spelling, and style.
- Careful attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and tasks, prioritise competing deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to embrace a growth mindset, showing a willingness to learn from feedback, adapt to new challenges, and continuously improve skills and knowledge.
- Strong customer focus, including diplomatically communicating feedback.
- Preference for collaboration and teamwork.
- Aptitude for identifying patterns.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software.
