EMPLOYABILITY TUTOR

Yes, we are seeking a seasoned Employability Tutor but this is a slightly different role because we are looking for someone with good DIY skills.

As an Employability Tutor you\’d be working with young people and sharing basic DIY skills to encourage them to become engaged through learning practical DIY skills that they may then be able to take forward into further training at a later date.

You don\’t have to be an expert in ANY of the following, but be naturally good with your hands, practically minded and enjoy DIY at home. Any of the following skills would be really useful:

Woodworking, brickwork, tiling, painting and decorating, etc.

As part of the role of Employability Tutor you would be taught a full range of DIY skills to improve your skill set and have the opportunity to gain formal training qualifications if you don\’t possess them already.

You\’d be working for a well established training provider with an impressive track record in engaging young people who then go on to take apprenticeships in some form of construction skills.

Classes are very small, so that each learner receives individual attention.

Essential for the role of Employability Tutor:

• A track record in employability or youth work either as a role or on a voluntary basis, such as sports coach etc.
• Good DIY skills – painting, decorating, woodworking, brickwork, tiling. This is absolutely essential.
• You must enjoy working with young people and be commtted to building relationships to encourage and promote learning.
• You must live within easy travelling of the Lutterworth area.
• You must possess good verbal and written communication skills.
