With a strong track record in engineering and infrastructure, we are expanding our renewable energy portfolio in UK and EU markets and seeking a strategic legal expert to support this growth.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team as Head of Project Finance, taking ownership of all project and structured finance matters related to raising finance in our renewable energy projects in the UK and Europe and then managing the financing portfolio. This is a newly created position, reflecting the company’s growth and need for dedicated capital raising stream.

Job Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of structuring and raising debt finance for our projects including initiating and managing discussions with the potential banks and private lenders, structuring finance and managing the whole stream in capital raising. The role involves working closely with internal and external legal counsels, financial modelers and other supporting functions. The role covers the entire target market of the business, mainly UK and EU jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the whole capital raising processes related to lenders, initiating and managing discussions, structuring and optimization of non-recourse finance deals
  • Managing the bank relations in UK and EU region
  • Evaluating term sheets, working on optimization of the financial structure
  • Managing presentations and Information Memorandums
  • Assessing bankability aspects of project documents (EPC, O&M, PPA)
  • Selecting and coordinating specialized Advisors and Due Diligence providers
  • Executing deals including loan documentation, financial close process, CPs satisfaction and drawdowns
  • Administration of Finance Documents, compliance reports, undertakings reporting, and waiver process
  • Act as the key leader in bank relations and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders including lawyers, Business Development and EPC management teams and other functions
Requirements:
  • 7+ years’ proven structured and project finance experience in a bank, advisory firm, or a large organization with similar responsibilities in UK
  • Proven experience in renewables sector
  • Loan structuring including project financing documentation, due diligence, and financial close process.
  • Knowledge of legal and accounting principles of non-recourse financing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Team spirit, agility, and cooperation with various internal teams and functions, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Understanding of financial modelling applications in non-recourse finance
  • Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen.
  • Ability to work independently and strategically within a fast-paced environment.

Renewables & PPP business is highly important and separately managed division with its HQ in London to secure a future-proof business with stable and predictable cash flows. The division has recently closed non-recourse financing of a PPP tramline project in Poland and raised funding from multilaterals and lenders up to Eur 200m level. The UK company will act as the divisional HQ under which all renewable and PPP assets will be consolidated.
