Legal Reporter Position

If you have been called to the bar or are a qualified solicitor and are looking for a change of pace, you might be interested in becoming a valued law reporter. Our client is a prestigious legal publisher with an international readership, seeking a law reporter to attend hearings and record notes on significant judgments, summaries, and rulings.

You will need to take initiative and confidently liaise with management regarding whether cases are suitable for publication and the allocation of time and resources. Responsibilities include proofreading, editing, and formatting judgments in-house. You will communicate regularly with judges and court staff to obtain approval for publishing your law reports.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Qualified solicitor or called to the bar (pupillage not required)
  • Exceptional written and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, including managing time efficiently, meeting deadlines, and archiving cases
  • Comprehensive understanding of legal judgments and ability to communicate them concisely

Additional Information

The role offers flexibility, including court attendance when necessary. Excellent pension arrangements are provided.

This position is ideal for someone called to the bar exploring alternative career paths or not currently seeking pupillage.
