Why This Role Matters
The Sport Manager will help deliver an exceptional Team England experience at the 2026 Commonwealth Games. You will be the go-to contact for several sports, supporting preparation and delivery alongside our Head of Sport and wider Games Delivery team. Your work will directly impact athlete wellbeing, team cohesion, and performance success.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Act as the main point of contact for several sports in the lead-up to and during the Games
- Support team leaders and athletes to create a positive, high-performing environment
- Make sure our team values are embedded in every stage of planning and delivery
- Help design spaces and services that meet athlete needs during Games-time
- Collaborate across departments to keep plans inclusive, efficient and athlete-focused
- Be adaptable, Games-time by providing Preparation Camp planning and logistics support alongside additional responsibilities that will evolve as plans develop
Essential Skills
- Experience working in or around high-performance sport
- Understanding creating inclusive team environments
- Excellent organisation and communication skills
- Confidence managing relationships under pressure
- A calm, proactive approach in fast-paced settings
- Experience working with national governing bodies (NGBs) or large sporting events
- A team mindset and ability to work collaboratively
- Flexibility to travel and work non-standard hours when needed
