We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join a dynamic company focused on delivering innovative digital solutions that enhance the client journey. This team plays a critical role in developing tools such as data-driven forms, customized workflows, advanced comparison features, and more. Over the past 18 months, they have significantly expanded platform capabilities, enabling broader client adoption and improving service delivery across industries.

About the Role:

This role blends technical leadership with people management. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to define strategies, remove blockers, and ensure smooth cross-team collaboration. Salary is up to €95,000

Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership : Oversee a small engineering team, focusing on their productivity, well-being, and professional growth.
  • Technical Direction : Collaborate with staff engineers to guide the development of new features and ensure balanced technical maintenance.
  • Process Improvement : Identify bottlenecks, refine workflows, and champion best practices in software delivery.
  • Quality Assurance : Establish rigorous processes for code quality, implement automated testing strategies, and maintain high test coverage.
  • Reliability Oversight : Drive observability strategies by setting and monitoring service level objectives (SLOs) and proactively addressing system reliability.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration : Partner with product leads and stakeholders to shape strategies and report progress to senior management.
  • People Management : Provide mentorship, conduct regular 1:1s, deliver feedback, and support team members’ career development.

Requirements:

  • 1+ years in a tech leadership role (e.g., Tech Lead, Software Team Lead, Engineering Manager).
  • 5+ years of hands-on development experience, with expertise in Java and object-oriented design.
  • Strong background in distributed systems and APIs (RESTful and message-driven).
  • Experience with TDD/CI processes and designing fault-tolerant services.
  • Proven ability to set clear roadmaps and deliver results in an Agile environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a strategic mindset and a passion for team growth and collaboration.
