Change Accountancy and Finance are delighted to be supporting our public sector client in the recruitment of a Finance Assistant. Based in the heart of Glasgow, the role will be joining a busy finance team with responsibility for the allocation of payments and interacting with a range of internal and external parties to resolve queries and issues.
Key for the role is a proactive attitude and willingness to get your hands on with queries, as well as a base understanding of payables, receivables and reconciliations. Working as part of a wider team, you will be given support to learn the role and develop your relationships. Duties will cover the following;
- Working with wider finance to ensure the accurate allocation of payments to customer accounts
- Performing a range of reconciliations including; bank reconciliations, supplier statements and wider finance data
- Investigating discrepancies and proactively looking to resolve these
- Preparing and processing payments
- Review of customer data to complete aged debtors information, working with stakeholders to resolve this
- Confident using excel to filter, sort, search and manipulate data as required
- Strong interpersonal skills and a proactivity to engage with others to resolve questions
Applicants for the role will have a core set of finance skills covering the above, experience allocating payments is key and the investigation of discrepancies. The role will be part of a busy finance team with other duties coming up to support in. Longer term development potential is a real opportunity with a supportive team.
Salary: £25,000 + Overtime and Excellent Holiday Allowance
Hybrid Pattern: 2 days in office
