Honeycomb is delighted to partner with a leading UK-based Underwriting Agency to recruit for an experienced Commercial Motor Underwriter to join their busy office based in Belfast City Centre. The role is full time and permanent and would suit someone coming from a strong Insurance background, particularly in Commercial Motor Fleet, with great opportunity for growth & development.
The Client
Our client is a UK-based underwriting agency, with offices in London, Manchester, Oxfordshire and Belfast. They were established in 2001, and specialise in Commercial Motor Insurance. They put their customers at the heart of everything they do and have a respected position within its niche market.
The Role
Within the role of Commercial Motor Underwriter, you will report directly to the Underwriting Manager. Typical duties will include:
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, including brokers.
- Negotiate rates, terms and conditions for New Business and Renewals.
- Maximise Renewal Retention and New Business in line with business targets.
- Adhere to underwriting standards, instructions and good practice to minimise risk.
- Develop a knowledge of market dynamics and market cycles to be able to operate effectively and appropriately.
- Work closely with Underwriting Manager to grow account and assist in managing Underwriting Team.
Desirable Criteria
- 5 years+ experience in Commercial Motor Fleet Underwriting.
- Strong experience gained from within the insurance industry.
- Good PC literacy including Excel, Word & Outlook.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyse data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Package
- Salary starting from £40000 to £55000, depending on skills & experience.
- Pension contribution.
- 25 days annual leave, plus stats.
- Car parking on site, or close by.
