The Role: This is a dual-focused role, combining hands-on event management with strategic business development. You’ll be responsible for identifying, planning, and delivering a range of events that bring energy and footfall to the park—everything from food festivals and wellness retreats to local craft markets and seasonal celebrations. At the same time, you’ll build strong relationships with local businesses, tourism bodies, and community groups to position the park as a hub for collaboration and activity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and executing a varied calendar of on-site events
- Securing local suppliers, entertainers, and vendors to enhance the offering
- Developing partnerships with businesses to host functions, workshops, and brand activations
- Managing budgets, marketing plans, and post-event evaluations
- Acting as an ambassador for the park within the Salcombe and wider Devon community
The Person: We are looking for a confident, outgoing personality and a flair for building connections. Ideally, you’ll bring a background in events, hospitality, or destination marketing, and a proven track record of creating memorable experiences that drive commercial results. Strong project management skills and a hands-on approach are a must—this is a role where you’ll be just as comfortable liaising with a local brewery as you are setting up a marquee or pitching a partnership idea.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in event planning and/or business development
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- A good understanding of the local area and seasonal tourism patterns
- Organised, proactive, and comfortable working independently
- Passion for community engagement and local partnerships
