Seasonal Park Keeper

Contract: Seasonal (April – October) | Full-time & Part-time Available

Shift Pattern: 4 days on, 4 days off (07:30 – 20:30 with breaks)

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as a Seasonal Park Keeper within the Local Authority. This role involves ensuring the daily maintenance and upkeep of Folkestone\’s parks and open spaces, creating a safe and enjoyable environment for the public.

The ideal candidate will have a full driving licence and some experience in grounds maintenance tasks such as hedge trimming, mowing, and litter picking. You must be reliable, flexible, a standard DBS check will be carried out. Previous employment references will be obtained.

Full availability during the busy season (April to September) is essential.

Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations.

Drive company vehicles as required.

️ Engage with the public in a professional and calm manner.

Litter picking, waste management, and safe disposal.

Maintain public toilets in the Coastal Park and East Cliff.

Garden maintenance – weeding, pruning, hedge cutting, strimming, and planting.

Sand area upkeep – raking, filling holes, and clearing paths with a blower.

Assist in the setup and take-down of special events.

Help maintain the park\’s infrastructure, such as playgrounds, benches, and pathways.

️ Monitor the park for safety issues and report concerns.

What We\’re Looking For:

️ A calm and mature approach to handling difficult situations.

A valid standard DBS check on the update service or willingness to apply.

Reliability and ability to work independently for extended periods.

Knowledge of gardening/landscaping is desirable.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently.

Excellent communication skills and team spirit.

Physical fitness to carry out manual tasks.
