- Design experience with Azure Integration Services
- Previous experience in retail utilities industry (energy b2b commercial and industrial)
- Knowledge of pricing and forecasting (preferred).
- o Has worked as a lead solution architect on a large transformation project with a retail energy ‘big six’. Ideally a large back-office transformation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
What the person will do
- Provide solution architecture/design support to the programme to ensure robust and approved designs for integrations across the project architecture.
- Create and maintain solution architecture (High Level Designs) in support of the client’s architecture function and as an enabler to project development workstream.
- Weekly/Daily reporting as required on progress with solution architecture, blockers and issues.
- Responsible for driving through solution design against an aggressive timeframe to ensure that designs can be approved and then handed over to the development stream.
- Acknowledge overlaps between programme and other projects within the portfolio and liaise with other architects and stakeholders for optimal outcomes.
- Support the development pods and technical architects in creation of associated technical user stories and LLDs as necessary.
- Solution architecture support to programme teams as required.
- Creation and maintenance of solution documents for the architectural governance process and programme/project governance.
- Provide incremental updates of design artefacts as necessary to facilitate agile incremental delivery and to align with programme/project key milestones
- Guide the development of the architecture in an iterative and incremental fashion, working at pace to deliver against milestones.
- Support and work closely with development/supplier project teams.
- Provide integration specifications to enable creation of technical user stories.
- Support the definition of NFRs for the solution
- Give guidance on and uphold design principles and take the lead on design decisions.
- Communication of the architecture – ensure everyone understands the architecture.
- Support stakeholders to understand how the architecture meets the business requirements.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, programme team and suppliers, use appropriate models/communications for the audience.
- Be aware of the cost/time to update the artefacts/documentation and champion a ‘light’ and agile approach.
- Work as an integral part of the Design function.
- Provide regular and effective progress updates to the Design workstream lead.
PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
How success is measured
- Solution design documents are created, approved and handed over within the project/programme target dates to ensure delivery milestones are met.
- Solution Architecture Decisions have appropriate due diligence and options analysis including trade-offs
- Consideration of the target state in the light of overlapping projects within the portfolio.
- Specific targets:
o Week 1-2 – Successful handover from existing Solution Architect. Knowledge transfer completed with BA team, Data architect team and PO/SMEs. Handover report completed at end of the period.
o First 2 weeks – completion of any open in-flight design queries for existing known designs.
Ongoing – completion of solution design and handover to build workstream per iteration within target dates.
