We are seeking 3 proactive and reliable Warehouse Goods-In Operatives to join our dedicated team at our Dartford Operations hub (relocating to Aylesford December 2025) and our Sheffield hub. In these pivotal roles, you will work primarily in the yard area, with a key focus on managing the processing of returned goods and ensuring they are cleaned and prepared for re-use or dispatch. As a key member of the warehouse team, you will ensure high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect and record incoming goods against delivery documentation for accuracy, quality and tracking.
- Assess, sort and report any discrepancies, damages, or quality issues to the Warehouse Team Leader.
- Log all received items into the inventory management system promptly.
- Clean returned goods and equipment using appropriate tools and cleaning agents.
- Store goods in designated locations (yard or warehouse), ensuring proper handling and security.
- Operate forklifts or other yard machinery (if certified), ensuring safe handling of materials.
- Maintain a clean and organised goods-in area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other warehouse operatives to support overall warehouse operations.
- Carry out other warehouse duties as required to ensure efficiency and productivity.
- Liaise with internal teams such as Quality Control, Repairs, and Inventory to coordinate the flow of goods.
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures and company policies.
- Identify and report any safety or maintenance issues in the yard or equipment.
- Support general yard duties, including loading/unloading vehicles and assisting with deliveries as required.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in a goods-in or warehouse role.
- Forklift truck certification is beneficial, but training can be provided.
- Strong attention to detail and meticulous organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- A basic understanding of inventory management systems is an advantage.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy items as necessary.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards in warehouse operations.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
