Venn Group is working with a council in the South East of England in their search for a Contracts and Procurement Lawyer on a locum basis for an initial 3-month role, with strong potential for extension.
Details:
- Hourly Rate: £55 Umbrella (negotiable)
- Length of Contract: 3 months initially with a high possibility for extension
- Working Pattern: Full-time

- Remote Work: Mostly remote, with occasional office attendance required for team meetings
Duties/Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Principal Lawyer, the successful candidate will provide specialist legal support across a range of contract and procurement matters. Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting complex contracts and agreements
- Advising on subsidy control matters
- Interpreting and applying new public procurement regulations
- Providing legal support on devolution-related projects
- Advising on matters relating to local authority trading companies
Preferred Experience:
- Extensive experience in local government contracts and procurement law
- Knowledge of devolution frameworks and related legislation
- Strong understanding of subsidy control and public procurement reforms
- Ability to provide high-quality, solution-focused legal advice in a fast-paced environment
The successful candidate must hold a current practising certificate.
