Venn Group is working with a council in the South East of England in their search for a Contracts and Procurement Lawyer on a locum basis for an initial 3-month role, with strong potential for extension.

Details:

  • Hourly Rate: £55 Umbrella (negotiable)
  • Length of Contract: 3 months initially with a high possibility for extension
  • Working Pattern: Full-time
  • Location: South East of England
  • Remote Work: Mostly remote, with occasional office attendance required for team meetings

Duties/Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Principal Lawyer, the successful candidate will provide specialist legal support across a range of contract and procurement matters. Key responsibilities include:

  • Drafting complex contracts and agreements
  • Advising on subsidy control matters
  • Interpreting and applying new public procurement regulations
  • Providing legal support on devolution-related projects
  • Advising on matters relating to local authority trading companies

Preferred Experience:

  • Extensive experience in local government contracts and procurement law
  • Knowledge of devolution frameworks and related legislation
  • Strong understanding of subsidy control and public procurement reforms
  • Ability to provide high-quality, solution-focused legal advice in a fast-paced environment

The successful candidate must hold a current practising certificate.
