Dalkia UK is looking for a highly capable Site Supervisor with electrical bias to lead our onsite building services operation at Tate Britain — one of the world’s iconic cultural landmarks. This is a unique opportunity to work in an environment where maintaining optimal environmental conditions is as vital as preserving the art itself.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee all mechanical and electrical building maintenance services — from planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works to technical troubleshooting and subcontractor management.
  • Lead a team of skilled engineers, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations while maintaining the high standards our client expects.
  • Oversee day-to-day maintenance of all mechanical and electrical building systems, including BMS, heating & cooling systems, AHU’s, humidifiers, LV electrical distribution services & lighting, drainage, water treatment, security systems, and life safety systems.
  • Manage a small team and liaise with subcontractors and specialist service providers.
  • Act as the primary technical contact for the client, representing Dalkia with professionalism and a solutions-first approach.
  • Ensure critical environmental conditions are maintained for artwork preservation.
  • Support on-site events and minor project works as needed.
  • Communicate with clients, be responsive to their needs and aims and exceed expectations.

We’re Looking For

You’re someone who thrives in a high-responsibility environment, with a background in building services and team leadership. Your technical skills are matched by a proactive mindset and a sharp eye for detail.

Essential:

  • A full Apprenticeship in Building Services Maintenance or equivalent.
  • 18th Edition Institute of Electrical Engineers (I.E.E) Registration or recognised equivalent; or Electrical Apprenticeship – gained within the building services industry.
  • Proven experience in building maintenance and supervisory roles.
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

  • City & Guilds, HNC/HND, or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, or HVAC.
  • LV certificate of appointment of an Electrical Authorised Person (AP).
  • Health & Safety certifications.
  • Experience in gallery or museum environments.
