Hill McGlynn Recruitment is proud to be representing a highly regarded regional main contractor based near Chelmsford, with a strong and diverse pipeline of projects across residential, fit-out, care home, and prison sectors. As part of their continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute and delivery-focused QS to take ownership of multiple projects and play a key role in the business's ongoing success.
The Role:
- Managing the commercial aspects of projects from inception to final account.
- Preparing and managing cost plans, budgets, and valuations.
- Managing subcontractor procurement, payments, and variations.
- Liaising with site teams, clients, and consultants to ensure financial efficiency.
- Reporting to a Commercial Manager or Director depending on project size.
Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a main contracting environment.
- Solid background working on new build or refurbishment projects in residential, fit-out, care or custodial sectors.
- Strong contractual knowledge (JCT/D&B).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
