OVERALL PURPOSE

As Director of Business Development – Enterprise Payments, you will be responsible for driving strategic growth in the enterprise payments space, with a focus on large-scale enterprise, marketplaces, and platform businesses. Leveraging capability of relationship building, business development skills and knowledge in payments, you will identify and secure high-value partnerships with enterprise clients, enabling them to optimize their global payment flows. This role requires a strong network, a consultative sales approach, and a deep understanding of payment ecosystems.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

As a critical member of the global team, this position will report directly to the Chief Business Officer. You’ll partner closely with our Product Management and Marketing local business unit teams to build a cohesive user journey that delivers the right product to the right users, at the right time.

PRINCIPAL ELEMENTS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Enterprise Sales & Growth Strategy
    • Identify, pursue, and secure partnerships with high-value enterprise clients, including but not limited to large marketplaces, digital platforms, and major smart device / EV makers businesses.
    • Execute a go-to-market strategy targeting end-to-end payment enablement opportunities including acquiring, issuing and B2B payments.
    • Build solid relationships across multiple levels within the organization of the enterprise clients and become the go-to person.
    • Manage complex negotiations with C-level executives to establish long-term strategic partnerships.
  • Market Expansion & Competitive Positioning
    • Identify new verticals and emerging payment trends to expand market reach.
    • Analyze competitive positioning and develop value-driven propositions tailored to enterprise clients.
    • Work closely with marketing and product teams to refine messaging and sales strategies for acquiring and issuing solutions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Execution
    • Partner with Product, Compliance, and Engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and execution of payment solutions.
    • Drive sales forecasting, pipeline management, and revenue growth tracking in alignment with company targets.

EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of relevant and progressive work experience in business development, enterprise sales, or strategic partnerships within payments, fintech, or cross-border payments.
  • Established network within enterprise clients such as marketplaces, digital platforms, multinational corporations.
  • Exposure to large corporations from previous Payment/Banking or Business Development careers.
  • Experience in covering Chinese multinational enterprises or working within large scale Chinese multinational enterprises is a plus.
  • Proven track record of closing large, complex deals and exceeding revenue targets.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Educated with a relevant degree in Business, Finance, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
