We are working with a market leader in the Utilities and Infrastructure sector - specialists in delivering land, planning, environmental and geospatial solutions that unlock critical infrastructure projects across the UK and Ireland.

As part of their continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Planner to join their collaborative Environmental and Planning team. You will play a key role in shaping the environmental and planning strategy for major projects in Scotland, working alongside clients, stakeholders, and in-house technical teams.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead and coordinate EIA and planning activity on a diverse portfolio of projects, from feasibility to submission of Environmental Outcomes Reports (EORs).
  • Manage and mentor a small team of planners and consultants, driving high standards and supporting their professional growth.
  • Build strong relationships with client teams, planning officers, and key project stakeholders across Scotland.
  • Provide strategic advice aligned with Scottish policy, legislation, and upcoming regulatory changes.
  • Support business development by identifying new opportunities and collaborating with colleagues to cross-sell services.

What we are looking for:

  • A degree in planning, environmental science or a related field.
  • Chartered status with IEMA and/or RTPI.
  • Strong experience delivering EIA and planning services in Scotland, with excellent knowledge of Scottish environmental and planning policy.
  • A collaborative leader who can motivate others while maintaining strong technical oversight.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to write proposals, present to clients, and advise on complex planning issues.
  • Proficient in GIS systems and familiar with a broad range of environmental disciplines.
  • Full UK driving licence.

What’s on offer:

  • Annual bonus scheme
  • 25 days holiday + your birthday off
  • Vitality Health membership (includes private healthcare & gym discounts)
  • Flexible working support
  • Company pension and life insurance (4x salary)
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme
  • Enhanced parental leave
  • Free parking at non-city offices
  • CPD support and membership subscriptions

This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious EIA professional who wants to take the lead on nationally significant projects while shaping the future of sustainable infrastructure delivery.
