We are looking for an experienced Senior Supervisor to join our Construction team, reporting directly to the Construction Team Leader. In this key role, you’ll oversee the delivery of planned, reactive, and emergency works, managing both major and minor projects to ensure they are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
You’ll work closely with both internal teams and supply chain partners, ensuring compliance with NEC contracts, driving productivity, and effectively managing budgets, change processes, and risks. Your leadership will help guide site teams, ensure compliance, and contribute to the successful delivery of projects across the Borough.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee project delivery to meet key milestones and programme targets.
- Provide design input and review drawings for buildability.
- Lead daily site supervision and reporting.
- Manage workload and priorities across multiple sites.
- Support and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment.
- Liaise closely with the supply chain and design teams, engaging early to identify risks and ensure efficient delivery.
- Conduct regular site inspections and briefings, ensuring works meet safety and quality standards.
- Monitor gang performance and productivity, addressing any issues proactively.
- Collaborate with the programme coordinator to meet deadlines and deliver right-first-time outcomes.
- Deputise for the Construction Team Leader when required.
- Background in civil engineering, resurfacing, or highway maintenance.
- Strong experience managing major and minor projects, including budgeting and change control.
- In-depth knowledge of NEC contracts, MCHW, DMRB, NRSWA, and relevant highway legislation.
- Thorough understanding of health & safety regulations, including CDM.
- Skilled in using Microsoft Office and reporting tools.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and use initiative.
- Full UK driving licence.
