The Role: Veritas Education is partnering with various college settings in the Leeds area to recruit multiple Learning Support Workers. These post-16 settings offer a range of vocational and further educational curricula, with internal plans and provisions to support learners requiring additional assistance. As a Learning Support Worker, you will support different classes within the setting, helping children access their education and achieve academic and independent growth. You will need to manage behaviour across the classroom and on a 1:1 basis, helping to manage disruptiveness, keep learners focused and engaged, and de-escalate at-risk or crisis behaviour.

The Applicant:

  • Comfortable working with learners of varying academic and behavioural abilities.
  • Willing to support on a 1:1 basis, providing extra academic support or behaviour management.
  • Experienced in behaviour management, supporting SEMH, behavioural, and ADHD needs in learners aged 16+.
  • Enthusiastic about engaging in both academic and practical sessions across a range of qualifications and vocational avenues, even in subjects outside their strongest area.
