We are seeking a motivated and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team and support the effective management of project costs across a range of earthworks and civil engineering contracts. This is an exciting opportunity to work on some of the UK’s most significant earthmoving and infrastructure schemes with a forward-thinking, family-run business.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and control the commercial and financial aspects of multiple live projects.
• Prepare and submit interim valuations, final accounts, and cost reports.
• Monitor project budgets and forecast costs to completion.
• Measure and value works in progress and variations.
• Liaise closely with project managers, estimators, and site teams.
• Support procurement of subcontractors, plant, and materials.
• Analyse subcontractor quotations and agreements.
• Ensure contractual compliance and manage claims/disputes where necessary.
• Support business reporting including monthly CVRs and P&Ls.
• Build strong client relationships and represent the company at commercial meetings.

Requirements

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, earthworks, or plant hire sectors.
• Understanding of NEC3/NEC4 and/or bespoke contract forms.
• Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other cost reporting tools.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to visit project sites.
