Smartedge’s Client is looking for an individual to help with their Power BI Architect in Basildon, UK.
Experience Required:
- Power BI / Reporting Services Architect to assist our Partner Reporting Lead.
- This individual will play a crucial role in developing and managing reporting solutions that connect to our SQL Server, as well as visualizing data through Power BI for both management reporting and business intelligence purposes.
- The role requires strong SQL knowledge and the ability to work with complex datasets to provide actionable insights and business intelligence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Report Development: Design, develop, and maintain SSRS reports connected to SQL Server databases. Create and optimize Power BI dashboards and reports for management and business intelligence.
- Automation and Efficiency: Assist in automating the process of passing parameters to Reporting Services using predefined templates. Develop procedures to generate a large number of reports from already transformed datasets for partner reporting.
- Migration and Onboarding: Aid in migrating current reporting processes to more efficient, automated systems. Assist in onboarding new reporting requirements for new partners.
- Data Analysis: Utilize SQL to extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets, ensuring data integrity and quality.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the Partner Reporting Lead and other team members to understand and deliver on reporting requirements. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide status updates.
- Documentation and Best Practices: Document reporting processes and solutions. Adhere to best practices in data visualization and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Power BI Developer or Reporting Services Developer.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with SQL Server.
- Strong experience with Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and report server.
- Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
- Strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with other BI tools and technologies.
- Familiarity with ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
- Background in financial services or similar.
