Dalkia Scotland is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Fire & Security division. In this key role, you’ll be responsible for managing and delivering tenders and estimating opportunities across a wide portfolio of projects, ensuring consistency, compliance, and commercial accuracy. We’re looking for a detail-oriented, commercially aware professional who brings strong industry knowledge and a proactive mindset to every bid. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site surveys and assess project requirements for tenders and budgets.
  • Prepare accurate costings and bills of quantities aligned with commercial strategy.
  • Submit high-quality tenders on time, ensuring commercial certainty and compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Design, Bid, Commercial, Finance, HR) to ensure bid quality.
  • Engage with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to negotiate and secure best pricing.
  • Develop risk registers and contribute to the Commercial Review Board process.
  • Interpret contract structures and assess insurance, bond, and warranty implications.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Fire & Security industry estimating experience.
  • Proven ability to prepare and submit tenders, quotations, and BOQs.
  • Strong negotiation skills and commercial awareness.
  • Confident communicator with excellent organisational skills.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office and standard estimating tools.

Desirable:

  • HND in Construction, Building Services, or a related field.
