TEAMThe ITSO (IT Services and Airline Operations) organisation manages and is accountable for the rapid delivery of the trustworthy, scalable, and efficient IT infrastructure services needed to support the technology critical for easyJet’s future growth plans and ambitions.I&O Platforms are part of the ITSO organisation and form the backbone of easyJet\’s technology capabilities. They underpin nearly everything we do at easyJet – from providing transparency on the state of our technology services to ensuring efficient and secure hosting of our data. Effective I&O Platforms are critical to enabling our future growth aspirations and our ambition to become Europe\’s most loved airline.JOB PURPOSEThe Cloud Network Engineer is contributing to the seamless delivery of all IT services for the Connectivity Platform. This role designs, builds, tests and scales services. It is heavily involved in design and implementation activities that result in new or improved I&O capabilities, and it brings skills and expertise to such areas as automating tasks (e.g., cloud, network, etc.), provisioning and configuration management; and other aspects involved in preparing and optimising I&O solutions.You will collaborate closely with Platform Architects, product/platform teams, security, and network specialists, as well as other roles, particularly those in the infrastructure and operations. Being an approachable team-player is therefore crucial for success. The Platform Engineer is expected to demonstrate strong attention to detail and a customer-centric mindset.The role is fundamental for ensuring stable, performant, and secure I&O Platforms which form easyJet’s technological backbone. Job AccountabilitiesEngineeringDesigning solutions based on stakeholder requirementsPlatform engineering and configurationOverseeing version and patch release and deploymentProvide technical expertise as part of the Platform maintenance, support and troubleshooting activities.ArchitectureSecurity & Compliance By Design – Resolving any potential security threats and vulnerabilities risks identified in risk assessments in collaboration with easyJet InfoSec team.System Optimisation & ImprovementEvaluating technologies in terms of scalability, fit to current and future needs, interoperability and security and compliance aspects.Strategy & PlanningContributing to the creation and execution of an end-to-end automation strategy for I&O Platforms; streamlining operations and automate repetitive tasks and establish self-correcting mechanisms to minimise manual interventions and increase the value for money.KEY SKILLS REQUIREDDesign, build and configure network infrastructure and services in AWSStrong hands-on experience with AWS networking and automation, including: – Designing and deploying VPCs, subnets, route tables and security groups – Integrating virtual appliances (e.g. Palo Alto firewalls)Automate infrastructure using Python and TerraformBuild automated solutions to manage cloud and on-premise network infrastructureSet up and optimise CI/CD pipelines to support automated cloud product lifecyclesUnderstanding of cloud-based connectivity patternsExperience with SD-WAN technologies, such as Cisco MerakiFamiliarity with zero trust networking principles and solutions, e.g. ZscalerExperience configuring and troubleshooting dynamic routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF)VPN configuration and troubleshooting skills across multiple environmentsExposure to multi-vendor firewall environments with a focus on secure policy design and integration What you’ll get in return Competitive base salary Up to 20% bonus 25 days holiday BAYE, SAYE & Performance share schemes 7% pension Life InsuranceWork Away SchemeFlexible benefits package Excellent staff travel benefits About easyJetAt easyJet our aim is to make low-cost travel easy – connecting people to what they value using Europe’s best airline network, great value fares, and friendly service.
