ETL/ ELT Engineering SME (City of London)

We have an exciting role for you – ETL / ELT Engineering SME.

As a ETL / ELT Engineering SME, you will be working on designing, developing, and supporting data applications and infrastructure using ETL tools such as IDMC and Informatica Power Center. This position offers a chance to work with cutting-edge data technologies, providing significant impact on data management and processing within the organization.

Your responsibilities:

• Implementing and managing data processing workflows to handle large volumes of data efficiently.
• Utilizing cloud computing models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) for scalable and secure data management.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and optimize cloud-based data solutions.
• Ensuring data quality, integration, and performance through best practices and advanced ETL techniques.
• Implement data quality checks & Standardization in the code.
• Document all mappings, mapplets and rules in detail and hand over documentation to the customer.
• Create solutions and environments to enable Analytics and Business Intelligence capabilities.

Your Profile

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines using AWS Glue (PySpark).
• Strong hands-on experience with DBT (Cloud or Core).
• Implement and manage DBT models for data transformation and modeling in a modern data stack.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and PySpark.
• Experience with AWS services such as S3, Athena, Redshift, Lambda, and CloudWatch.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and modern data stack architectures.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (e.g., Git).
• Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements.
• Optimize data workflows for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across all pipelines.
• Contribute to the development of best practices and standards for data engineering and transformation.

Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:

• Working knowledge of AWS GLUE, DBT, ETL.
