Area Sales Manager – Food Ingredients Wholesaler

Location: Huddersfield, Leeds, Manchester, Bradford, Rochdale, Blackburn, Oldham, Stockport, Skipton.

Package: £35,000, £10,500 OTE Paid Monthly, Car or £6,000 Car Allowance, Company Pension, Life Assurance, 28 Days Holiday (including Bank Holidays), Employee Discount Scheme, Cycle to Work Scheme, Employee Assistance Programme

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a motivated Area Sales Manager to join our team.

The Role

This is a 70% account management, 30% new business role, focusing on:

• Managing and developing existing customer relationships to maximise sales opportunities

• Identifying and securing new business within your designated territory

• Keeping up to date with product knowledge and market trends

• Working closely with internal teams to ensure smooth order processing and customer satisfaction

• Strategising and executing sales plans to achieve targets

• Attending trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events to build brand awareness

The Person

We are looking for a driven and commercially minded individual with a strong background in sales. You should have proven experience in account management and business development, with the ability to manage and grow an existing customer base while also identifying and winning new business.

Excellent relationship-building skills are essential, as you will be working closely with customers to understand their needs and provide solutions that add value. Strong negotiation skills, the ability to work independently, and a results-driven approach are also key. You must be comfortable using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint to analyse sales data and present information effectively.

A valid UK driving licence is required, as this is a field-based role.
