Are you ready to lead the commercial function on a high-profile project with a Tier 1 main contractor? We are looking for an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our team based at our head office in Loughton, Essex.
Your Role: What You’ll Be Doing
As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial lead on a major multi-million-pound project, supporting the delivery team and driving financial performance. You will:
- Ensure all works, including variations, are valued in line with contractual obligations and true value is accurately reported
- Oversee main contract terms and conditions, ensuring commercial risks are identified and managed
- Lead the procurement and management of subcontractors, ensuring compliance with agreed terms
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Manage subcontract letting, negotiation, and financial accounting
- Support and mentor junior members of the Commercial Team
What We’re Looking For
This is a great opportunity if you have:
- A degree or HND in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent)
- Strong experience with NEC/ICE contracts and a solid understanding of current Construction Law
- Proven track record in subcontract procurement and commercial management
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Experience with monthly reporting, earned value analysis, and financial forecasting
- The ability to lead and support a team while managing project priorities
Desirable Qualifications
- Member of RICS or working towards professional chartership
- Valid CSCS card
