Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative recruitment agency, is seeking a dedicated Supervising Social Worker for a permanent position within the Fostering Team at Caretech, Thames Valley. This is a full-time role offering a salary of up to £43,700 per annum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct monthly visits to Foster Carers, ensuring supervision is recorded and reports are completed within 5 working days, with copies sent to relevant parties.
  • Provide weekly telephone support to Foster Carers, with documentation completed within 24 hours.
  • Support the Out of Hours service by participating in the rota.
  • Participate in the duty-day rota at the office to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Handle referrals and ensure timely placements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on the placement and movement of children with Family Carers.
  • Coordinate placement arrangements for young people moving on, in line with care plans and agreements with the Local Authority.
  • Attend fostering panel meetings, ensuring assessments and reviews are completed appropriately.
  • Deliver training and facilitate monthly Support Group Meetings for Foster Carers.
  • Prepare and support carers and children for court attendance.
  • Attend and record court case conferences, planning meetings, and reviews as a professional representative.
  • Ensure full compliance with organisational policies and procedures.
  • Keep management updated on practice, compliance, and outcome matters.
  • Participate in supervision sessions and annual appraisals.
  • Maintain an efficient, proactive approach to service provision.
  • Update databases to reflect current practice matters related to foster carers and young persons.

Requirements

  • A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Registered or eligible for registration.
  • Good knowledge of relevant legislation.
