About the Role
YDS Group is looking for a proactive and motivated Junior Systems Administrator to join our expanding IT team in Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their IT career who’s eager to develop hands-on technical experience within a modern, fast-paced, and supportive environment. As a Junior Systems Administrator, you’ll be an essential part of our growing business, supporting day-to-day IT operations, maintaining infrastructure, and contributing to exciting projects. With our rapid growth, there’s plenty of room for progression as we build out a strong internal tech team.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Microsoft 365 services (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, Azure AD).
- Support Windows 10/11 desktops and laptops, resolving software and hardware issues.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot PCs, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
- Perform basic network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, LAN/WLAN, DNS, DHCP).
- Monitor backups, apply security patches, and manage updates.
- Provide end-user support and deliver training across the business.
- Assist with IT projects including upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.
- Keep system documentation up to date.
- Collaborate with external vendors and service providers.
- Travel to other company sites when needed (Full UK driving licence required).
Skills & Experience Required
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 admin tools.
- Proficiency with Windows 10/11.
- Experience with hardware support and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WLAN.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a self-starter mindset.
- Clear, confident communication skills (written and verbal).
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable (Nice to Have)
- VLAN configuration and management experience.
- Basic PowerShell scripting for automation.
- Experience managing Group Policy within Active Directory.
- Exposure to Azure or other cloud services.
