We are seeking experienced professionals to work on Heat Network (HN) and wider Distributed Energy (DE) projects. These projects involve low to zero carbon heat and power networks, including technologies such as solar PV, heat pumps, energy storage, demand flexibility, and vehicle-to-grid charging.
The role involves project development, including scoping, business case, finance, and high-level technical consultancy for schemes involving heat networks, local energy networks, smart grids, and battery storage, potentially integrating with EV charging and home battery storage.
Team Overview
This position is part of our Sustainability Team, which focuses on reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions, and providing consultancy services to housing associations, public sector, and commercial clients. Our services include:
- City and regional carbon reduction programs
- Development of net zero and carbon management strategies
- Carbon footprinting and GHG reporting
- Energy savings assessments
- Implementation of management systems like ISO 50001
Qualifications
We seek candidates with relevant experience and competencies, including:
Essential:
- High-quality service delivery and client management
- Consultancy experience in DE and HN projects
- Successful track record in delivering DE schemes and meeting KPIs
- Experience overcoming barriers in project stages such as feasibility, commercialization, procurement, and delivery
- Knowledge of DE solutions and technologies
- Excellent customer relationship skills
- Understanding of metering, billing regulations, and government policies on HN
- Programme management and organizational skills
- Knowledge of building energy demands and relevant regulations (e.g., CP1, Part L)
Preferred:
- Business development experience
- Stakeholder engagement skills
- Development of energy strategies and master planning for DE
- Data analysis skills for DE projects
