One of our key clients, a US law firm is seeking a Tax Associate to join their tax group, a top tier team providing strategic tax planning and dispute resolution services to high-profile clients. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, cross-border transactions and challenging tax controversies while gaining exposure to cutting-edge legal issues in the tax field.
About the Role: The successful candidate will become an integral part of a top-ranked tax team known for its extensive experience across a wide range of tax-related matters, including cross-border tax controversies, transfer pricing, and dispute resolution. You will work closely with clients, leveraging technical expertise and creative problem-solving skills to address significant tax issues and provide tailored solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on tax planning, structuring, and implementation for complex, cross-border transactions.
- Manage and resolve disputes arising from global and regional business activities, including tax controversy matters.
- Deliver high-quality written communication, including drafting legal opinions, memos, and client advisories.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to servicing clients, including the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Collaborate with colleagues across practice areas to provide comprehensive legal solutions.
Person Specification:
Experience: Ideally 3 to 4 years' relevant post-qualification experience in a top-tier law firm or similar legal environment. Candidates with varying experience levels will also be considered.
Expertise: Broad corporate tax experience, with a particular focus on tax controversy and its application in corporate relationships.
Skills: Exceptional written communication and drafting skills. Proven ability to demonstrate technical and commercial creativity in addressing client needs. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Academic Credentials: A high level of academic achievement is required.
