Looking for a hands-on role with a leading company in intelligent transport solutions? SRL are at the forefront of traffic management innovation, providing temporary traffic systems like portable signals, message boards, and CCTV. Our mission is to create safer, more efficient roads through sustainable solutions.
As part of the Urban64 design department you will be responsible for the configuration of temporary traffic signal junctions. Using our specialist software the individual will create bespoke configurations from MCH1827 documents or existing traffic signal configurations. The role will also include testing of configurations produced by others. Working as part of the wider design team you may also be required to assist with technical queries and possibly traffic signal designs. This role would suit someone with experience in the traffic signal industry who has experience in configuration software and who comes from a maintenance or design background. Especially someone who is interested in traffic signal design and would like to broaden their skills.
Ideally, we are looking for an individual in the midlands area, who would be based at our Solihull depot. However, there is an option for hybrid or remote working for someone demonstrating the right skills and experience.
Key Accountabilities:- Using our specialist software creating bespoke traffic signal configurations for the Urban64 system
- Check and test configurations for the Urban64 system produced by others
- Carry out factory acceptance tests
- Updating documentation and reports in a timely manner
- Assisting the Urban64 traffic signal design team with technical or design queries
- Essential:
- Previous experience of creating or writing traffic signal configurations or specifications
- Understanding of traffic signal design and theory
- Ability to carry out testing in a logical and methodical manner
- Able to plan their own work and ensure deadlines are met
- Has good IT skills
- Desirable:
- Experience in traffic signal configuration packages
- Skills in computer programming / coding
- Is a good communicator and comfortable with talking to a variety of customers
- An understanding and experience of networks and routers
As this is a technical role where we are looking for specific competencies, there is less focus on qualifications. However, the salary will reflect the level of experience and qualifications the individual has.
